K.T.

I have many varied interests. As it is spring I am currently consumed with my garden. This year for a challenge I decided to grow all heirloom vegetables. Growing heirlooms is very cool as they are seeds that have been saved for generations.  They are all open pollinated and non-hybrid.   For more information on heirlooms please check out the following sites:

http://www.seedsofchange.com  Not all their seeds are heirloom but they are all certified organic.

http://www.territorialseed.com  Not all are heirloom and not all are organic but they are all geared toward growing in the Maritime Northwest (West of the Cascade Mountains from the Washington/Canada border to just south of Medford, Oregon)

http://www.heirloomseeds.com  All heirloom, all the time.  Some organic and some not.

I have a few favorite books on gardening that I love:

Maria Rodale's Organic Gardening is truly a marvel.  Very inspirational.  Reading this book really tuned me into what is important to me in my garden and my surroundings.   Just buy the book even if you aren't sure about organics or even gardening.
